Lem Doyle Christian January 26, 1929 ~ November 27, 2003 Funeral services for Lem Doyle Christian, 74, of Chickasha, will be Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Lem Doyle Christian was born January 26, 1929, in Mountain Park, Okla. He died Thursday, November 27, 2003, in Chickasha. Interment will be in the Pocasset Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. © The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma 30 November 2003 Lem Doyle Christian January 26, 1929 ~ November 27, 2003 Funeral services for Lem Doyle Christian, 74, of Chickasha, were held Saturday, November 29, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, with James McRae officiating. Lem Doyle Christian was born January 26, 1929, in Mountain Park, Oklahoma, the son of Lem Pierce Christian and Aurelia Townley Christian. He died Thursday, November 27, 2003, in Chickasha. Doyle married Rita Burnett in Farwell, Texas, on July 01, 1950. He and Rita came to Chickasha where Doyle worked as a foreman for DeHart Roofing for the next thirteen years. In 1963, Doyle began his own business, Christian Roofing, in Chickasha, which he successfully operated until his retirement in 1990. Doyle was a man who grew spiritually and valued God's creations. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Doyle was preceded in death by both parents, Lem and Aurelia Christian, one brother, Kenneth Christian, two sisters: Viola Mongold and Sylvia Word, and one granddaughter, Megan Christian. Survivors include his wife, Rita Jean Christian, of the home, three sons: Lem Christian, of Arizona, Steve Christian, of Guthrie, OK, and Danny Christian, of Chickasha; three daughters: Sherry Lavon Sanders, of Topeka, KS, Mary J. Brown, of Chickasha, and Lori Ann Soileau, of Abbeyville, LA; five brothers: Claude Christian, of Lawton, Henry Christian and Lee Roy Christian, both of Chickasha, Clyde Christian, of Rush Springs, and Allen Christian, of Norge; three sisters: Juanita Pool and Willie Ellen Lamb, both of Chickasha, Mary Ruth Manuel of Laverty, one uncle, Ike Townley, of Amber, two aunts: Hazel Coddington and Willie Rutledge; twenty grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Interment was in the Pocasset Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
