Karen [Hanover] Wallace

Funeral service for Karen E. Wallace, 55, of Chickasha will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2007, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.

Karen Wallace was born December 7, 1951, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of George and Betty [Murphy] Hanover. She died August 30, 2007, in Oklahoma City.

She attended high school in Perrysville, Indiana. She moved to Pamona, California in May of 1975.

While in Pamona she gave birth to her three children. After moving from California she lived with her family in various locations throughout the country, supporting her husband and raising her children with the knowledge that they were always loved unconditionally. She was most known for her compassion, acceptance and caring heart toward everyone she met. Not only was she the mother to her own three children, but was a surrogate mother to countless kids in the neighborhood. Karen was active in churches in every place she lived, as well as serving in the PTA, school functions and her children's multitude of activities. While giving to others in her personal life, Karen was also committed to loving others in her professional pursuits as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

She was preceded in death by both parents and one sister.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Wallace, of the home; daughter D'Ambra Purcey, of Wichita, Kansas; two sons: Christopher and Jeffery Wallace; two sisters; two brothers; five grandchildren: Dylan, Jordin, Camille, Katelyn and Josalyn; and numerous other relatives.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.

Interment will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
