Alma Elizabeth [Drewry] Thorsen

Funeral service for Alma Elizabeth Thorsen, 95, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at the First Lutheran Church of Chickasha.

Alma Elizabeth Thorsen was born September 30, 1911 in Seminole County, Oklahoma the daughter of William P. and Mary Floy (Smyth) Drewry and died February 17, 2007 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Alma and Carvin Halbert Thorsen were married July 16, 1933 at the First Lutheran Church in Chickasha.

They lived in Grady County all of their married life.

Alma was a housewife, mother, chauffeur (Clarence Gail and Annetta), homeroom mother for many years at Friend School, and partner with her husband Carvin over 60 years in his mechanic business, and his helper when they built their home east of Chickasha.

She was preceded in death by: Her husband: Carvin Thorsen in 1994; three brothers: Houston Alexander Drewry, Carl William Drewry, Sr., and Jay Smyth Drewry. one sister: Violet Draper (Drewry) Robbins.

Survivors include: one son: Clarence Gail Thorsen and wife Beverly of Chickasha; one daughter: Annetta Deloris Brown and husband Larry of Morristown, New Jersey; two brothers: Otis Lee Drewry of Fremont, California; Brice Drewry of Bakersfield, California; three sisters: Tessie Lorene Chandler of Seminole, Oklahoma; Alpha Louise Smith and husband Raymond Neil of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; Mary Lynn Williams of Seminole, Oklahoma; three grandcihldren: Dr. Debra Diane Brown and husband Dr. John Bret of Los Gatos, California; Dr. Lynn Alan Brown and wife Deidra Jane of Spokane, Washington; Gary Wayne Brown and wife Jennifer Ann of Randolph, New Jerse;y 5 great-grandchildren: Courtney Cellar of Las Gatos, California; Justin Brown of Randolph, New Jersey; Lindsay Cellar of Los Gatos, California;Lauren Brown of Randolph, New Jersey; Many nieces and nephews living across the country.

Interment will be in the Pioneer Cemetery, Norge, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
