© Minco Minstrel Minco, Oklahoma 28 April 1911 Dora Celeste [Anice] Collier Oak Grove Neighborhood Mrs. Dora Celiste Collier was born in St. Louis on 18 June 1861. After passing the grammar and a part of high school grades she engaged in business and had charge of a number of young men and women. While thus engaged she met with an accident at a veiled prophets parade which finally caused her death. She was united in marriage in 1892 to Orville Collier of Burlington Iowa. After a happy married life, part of which was spent in St. Louis, part in Veron, Illinois and the remainder in Oklahoma City, where death claimed her loving companion, she spent the last 5 years of her life with her only sister, Mrs. W. L. Lowrance. She was a church member since she was 14 years old. She and Mr. Collier reunited with the Christian Church in Oklahoma City. On the night of their return to their home, death claimed her companion. Blessed are the dead that dies in the Lord. Funeral services at Bethel Chapel with J.W. Martin who delivered the sermon. Interment was at the Phillips cemetery by the side of her father. |
