Graveside service for Dessie Lorene Turpin, 85, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma will
be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2001 at the Ninnekah Cemetery.
Dessie Lorene Turpin was born September 14, 1915, in Blanchard, Oklahoma,
the daughter of Walter and Allie Mae [Kendrick] Nunn, and died Sunday, May
6, 2001, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Turpin lived in Grady County most of her life. She worked as a dietitian
at Grady Memorial Hospital for 17 years.
She and John Turpin were married October 30, 1931 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
He preceded her in death in 1990.
Mrs. Turpin was also preceded in death by: 1 son: Walter Brownell Turpin,
1 daughter: Betty Jean Colegrove.
Survivors include: 3 daughters: Burnie Lorene Carr of Chickasha, Oklahoma,
Murlene Edward Rose of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Leatrice Joyce Cain of Marlow,
Oklahoma; 1 son: Vernice Troy Turpin of Ninnekah, Oklahoma; 24 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Sevier
Funeral Home.
