Funeral services for Merle Dean Reed, 80, of Chickasha, OK, will be Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.
Merle Dean Reed was born June 11, 1929 in Burkburnett,Texas to John and Willie [Kendrick] Loveless. She passed away on Saturday, November7, 2009 in Oklahoma City, OK.
Mrs. Reed moved to Oklahoma in 1936 where she later met and married Gilbert Reed on March 15, 1948 in Lawton, OK. She lived in the Chickasha area until her death.
She worked in area nursing homes for many years.
Mrs. Reed was a longtime member of Northside Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert on December 7, 1984, her parents and 8 brothers and sisters,also a son-in-law, Wayne McKenzie.
She is survived by 2 sons: John Wesley Reed and his wife, Elizabeth of Ninnekah, OK and Delbert Reed and his wife, Debbie, of Duncan, OK; 2 daughters: Pat Stephens and her husband, James, of Ninnekah, OK and Shirley McKenzie of Lindsay, OK; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Dorothy Fielding of Ninnekah, OK, and Leta Jones of Ninnekah, OK.
Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery, Ninnekah, OK, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha, OK.
