Funeral services for Gilbert Payne, 81, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 6, 1995, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.
Gilbert Payne was born April 25, 1913, in Amber, Oklahoma, the son of Charley and Laura Emily [Willhoit] Payne, and died Friday, March 3, 1995, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Mr. Payne lived in Grady County most of his life. He lived in Ninnekah for the last 32 years.
Mr. Payne worked for Arkla Gas Co. for over 20 years. He retired in 1973.
He and Nannie Mae McCaul were married January 31, 1932, in Mangum, Oklahoma.
Mr. Payne was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
Survivors includes his wife Nannie Mae Payne of the home, 4 daughters: Laura Ann Wood of Gainesville, Texas; Lessie Mae Chaney of Ninnekah, Oklahoma; Linda Kay Phillips of Birmingham, Alabama; and Leona Gayle Wright of Mustang, Oklahoma. One son, Charles Gilbert Payne of Ninnekah, Oklahoma. 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
