Berniece [Webb] Lehew

Funeral services for Berniece Lehew, 81, of Chickasha will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 14, 2009, in the Ninnekah Church of Christ Church with Rod Carroll officiating.

Berniece Lehew was born May 24, 1927, in Bront, Texas the daughter of Elsie and Laura [Kidd] Webb. She died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, in Norman.

She came to Oklahoma as a small child and her family settled near Rocky Ford. Berniece grew up in the Rush Springs area and graduated from Rush Springs High School.

In 1946, Berniece married Chester Leon Lehew. This union blessed them with three children: Linda, Cathy and Chester.

Berniece had been employed as a sales clerk for Kress's, McClelan's, Red Bud Grocery, Safeway, Richardson Furniture and Wal-Mart, where she retired in 1998.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, working in her flowerbeds and cooking.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother and she enjoyed every minute she had with her family.

She was preceded in death by both parents, one brother, one sister and one son-in-law.

She is survived by her children: Linda Clark and husband Emit, of Ninnekah; Cathy Robinson, of Chickasha and Chester Lehew and wife Tonya, of Ninnekah; sister-in-law, Bonnie Webb, of Sterling; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
