T. J. King

Funeral services for T. J. King, 86, of Chickasha, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2005, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, with Brian Maynor officiating.

T. J. King was born May 17, 1919, in Bridgeport, Texas, the son of John King and Laura (Irvin) King. He died December 20, 2005, in Chickasha.

T. J. King grew up in the Bridgeport and Decatur Texas area. He attended and graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1937.

He joined the United States Army Air Corps in 1942 in Decatur, Texas. He served for 2 years, and was honorably discharges in 1945, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

He married Irene Stephens on April 23, 1949, in Decatur, Texas. They were married for 53 years, before Irene preceded him in death on August 9, 2002.

In 1960, T. J. moved his family from Ft. Worth, Texas and came to Chickasha. He went to work at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, where he worked as a sheet metal specialist until his retirement in 1980.

He was preceded in death by both parents; his wife, Irene; one son, Ronnie King; six brothers; and two sisters.

He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law: Sue and Steve Howard, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma and Marsha Gardner, of Phoenix, Arizona; two sons and daughters-in-law: Rodney and Hope King, of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Alan and Gail King, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nine grandchldren; and seven great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
