Betty Jo "Clooney" [Shahan] Fergeson
January 9, 1929 ~ May 2, 2010


Funeral service for Betty Jo Fergeson, 81 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Edward Whitley will officiate.

Betty Jo was born the daughter of Robert Shahan and Yieta Haggard Shahan on January 9, 1929, in Blythe, California. She died on May 2, 2010 in Chickasha.

Betty was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was happiest at gatherings when her children would play music and sing for her. Betty enjoyed bowling, fishing, dancing, camping and her grandchildren. She lived a full life and smiled to the end.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Yleta Shahan; one sister, Dena Anderson; two brothers, Bobby Shahan and Delbert Ward; her husband, Bobby Gene Fergeson; one daughter, Linda Ann Chinn; four sons, John Chinn, Jr., Victor Chinn, Robert Fergeson and Dean Fergeson.

Survivors included one son, Mike Chinn of Chickasha, daughter, Cindy Alcorn of Ardmore, daughter and husband, Donna & Henry Sullivan of Ninnekah, 12 Grandchildren, Kim Apodaca; April Pritchard; Randi Wheeler; Terri cope; Misty Fergeson; Christy Fergeson; Henry Sullivan, Jr.; Tamra Balcom; Chris Fergeson; Michelle Fergeson; Angel Fergeson; Reford Alcorn, Jr., 28 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, brother and wife, Roy and Vera Ward of Chickasha, brother, Jack Ward of Arkansas, brother, Donny Shahan of Midwest City.

Viewing will be from 9 a. m. to 5 p.m.

Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
