Joan E. "Jo" [Cofer] Crabb
Funeral services for Joan E. Crabb, 80, of Ninnekah, will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 19, 2010, in the Ninnekah Baptist Church. Joan E. Crabb was born on August 10, 1929, in Ninnekah, the daughter of John and Ruby [Wyatt] Cofer. She died April 14, 2010, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She grew up in Ninnekah, where she attended and graduated from Ninnekah Public Schools.
Joan married her husband of 40 years, Billy Crabb Sr., in October 1956, in Ninnekah. They made their home in Ninnekah where they raised their family. Bill preceded her in death on March 12, 1996.
She attended vocational school and she taught head start for a brief time before she became a full time homemaker, wife and mother. She was a dedicated mother and was active in all of the children's activities when they were younger.
Joan was a people person and she enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved the outdoors and she spent as much time as possible outside.
She was a member of the Ninnekah Baptist Church.
Joan is preceded in death by both parents; husband, Billy Crabb, Sr.; two sons: Johnny Gardner and Keith Crabb; two brothers: John Elton Cofer and Donnie Cofer; and one sister, Willie (Cofer) Dunn.
She is survived by one son, Billy Crabb Jr. and wife Daun, of Ninnekah; daughter, Nita Hawkins and husband Dennis of Broken Arrow; step son, Richard Crabb and wife Brenda of San Angelo, Texas; step-daughter, Patty Smith and husband Walter of New York; one sister, Naomi Riggs of Liberty, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; many nieces nephews and extended family.
Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
