Reverend Troy Lee Capps
Funeral service for Reverend Troy Lee Capps, 69, of Oklahoma City, former Ninnekah resident, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Ninnekah. Reverend Troy Lee Capps was born August 21, 1937 in Idabel, Oklahoma the son of Freddie and Loree [Arbuckle] Capps and died April 22, 2007 in Bethany, Oklahoma.
Reverend Capps grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. He served in the U.S. Navy and married Janice Field in 1956. They lived in the Phoenix area where he served as pastor for several churches. They came to Oklahoma in 1978 and served as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Kingston, First Baptist Church of Ninnekah and churches in the Oklahoma City area.
He retired from the Texoma Southern Baptist Church in 1999. Reverend Capps lived in Oklahoma City for the past 5 years. He was a member of the Tulakes Baptist Church.
Reverend Capps was preceded in death by: Parents; two brothers: Kenneth Capps; Gene Capps.
Survivors include: Wife: Jan Capps of the home; three children: Troy K. Capps and wife Denise of Chickasha; Leann Voss and husband Walt of Chickasha; Amy Greenway and husband Jimmy of Galena, Missouri one brother: Fred Capps and wife Lonnie of Vallejo, California; six grandchildren: Kristy and Caleb Capps; Sandi and Eli Parr; Kenna and Ashlee Greenway.
Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Oklahoma County.
