Bobby Gene Smith

CHICKASHA - Bobby Gene Smith, of Cement, Okla., passed away Nov. 10, 2010, after a lengthy illness of Alzheimers.

Smith was born Jan. 18, 1931. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War. He married May Pauline Goodson on Aug. 11, 1956.

He worked as a plumber for Hopkins Plumbing in Chickasha until 1964 when he accepted a civil service job as a plumber at Fort Sill.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father Orville and Lydia Smith, one sister, Thelma McDaniel, two brothers, Howard Smith and Harry Smith, and one grandson, Jonathan Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Smith of the home; three, daughters and one son; Regina and Ron Childers of Bridge Creek, Deborah and Mike Gibson of Nash, Benita and Ray Orum of Chickasha and Bobby and Laurie Smith of Cement; a sister, Mary and David Smith of Chickasha; a brother, Carl and Madeline Smith of Roseberg, Oregon; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Gravesides services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Laverty Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha.

Eddie Cox and Lynn Walker will officiate. Smith's grandsons will be pallbearers.
