Graveside service for Mary Marie Sims, 87, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the Laverty Cemetery.
Mary Marie Sims was born October 28, 1919 in Ryan, Oklahoma the daughter of James Henry and Beulah Irene (Jackson) Petty and died January 5, 2007 in Oklahoma City.
Mrs. Sims worked as a registered nurse for over 50 years, retiring from Grady Memorial Hospital. She then became a consultant for nurses at Shannon Springs Residence Nursing Center.
Mrs. Sims was a member of the Northside Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by: Husband: U.Z. Sims in 1978; Parents; Grandson: Grant Tuck; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include: 1 son: Walter L. Sims of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 1 daughter: Mary H. Tuck of Chickasha; 6 grandchildren: William Lee Sims, Margaret O'Conner English, Mary Ann Sims, Gracie Sims, Lori Reed and Jana Ketchum; 8 great grandchildren; 1 sister: Grace Ford; and 1 brother: Floyd Petty.
Interment will be in the Laverty Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
