Mrs Mabel Roof. 65, of 118 S 49th Street, died in a local hospital Saturday morning following a brief illness.
Born April 2, 1903 in Cement, Mrs. Roof was married to Jess Roof in October, 1932, in Lawton. He died in April,1955.
Mrs. Roof was a member of the Methodist church.
She was a licensed practical nurse.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. W. H. Riser with whom she made her home; her mother, Mrs. Rosa Sain of Cement; a sister, Mrs Johnnie Parker of Wellington, Tex., six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Arrangements will be announced by Lawton Funeral Home.

Mabel [Sain] Roof
Funeral for Mrs. Mabel Lillian Roof, 65, of 118 S. 49th who died Saturday will be in the Lawton Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Rev Ralph Alexander, pastor of the Boulevard Congregation and Christian Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Laverty Cemetery, near Cement, under the direction of Lawton Funeral Home.
*Note: No gravestone could be located for Mabel in the Laverty Cemetery.
