Graveside service for Charles Gilbert Payne, 69, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 6, 2006 at the Laverty Cemetery.
Charles Gilbert Payne was born August 3, 1937 in Chickasha, Oklahoma the son of Clarence Gilbert and Nannie Mae [McCaul] Payne and died October 3, 2006 at his home in Chickasha.
Charles and Jo Peters were married January 1, 1986 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma.
He was a mechanic and retired in 1979. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Charles was preceded in death by: parents; one sister: Laura Woods.
Survivors include: wife: Jo Payne of the home; four sons and two daughters: Carl Payne of Chickasha, Oklahoma: Jo Harrill of Anadarko, Oklahoma; J. D. Woods of the home; Joshua Davis of the home; JoAnita Still of Yukon, Oklahoma; Charles Wooldridge of Venus, Texas; grandchildren: Yates Harrill III of Pennsylvania; Melissa Jo Harrill of New York; Jonathon Clayton of Anadarko, Oklahoma; Kalika Mertes of Anadarko, Oklahoma; Haylee Payne of Chickasha, Oklahoma; Christopher Payne of Chickasha, Oklahoma; Jeffrey Payne of Chickasha, Oklahoma; Michael Mitchell of Chickasha, Oklahoma; Joe Mitchell of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Megan Bingham of Chickasha, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren: Braden Bingham of Chickasha, Oklahoma; Preston Mitchell of Chickasha, Oklahoma; Adrian Clayton of Anadarko, Oklahoma; two great grandchildren arriving any day; three sisters: Lessie Chaney of Ninnekah, Oklahoma; Gayle Wright of Rush Springs, Oklahoma; Linda Phillips of Alabama; host of nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in the Laverty Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
