One-Vehicle Accident Claims Lives of Two Cement Teens Two Cement teenagers lost their lives in a one-vehicle accident about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, July 14. the accident occurred on a county road one mile east of Cement.
According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports, Danna Kay Golden, 16, and Alicia Kaye Wiggins, 14 died at the scene of massive head and internal injuries.
State Trooper Ron Greer reported Golden was driving east when the car ran off the roadway; she apparently over corrected, came back across the road and ran off the other side. The vehicle went into a side-slide and had started to roll when it slammed into a large tree, almost smashing the car in half. The girls were pinned in the wreckage for two hours. They were extricated by the Cyril Fire Department using the Jaws of Life.
The deaths of these two young ladies brings the death toll to eight teenagers from Cement and Cyril Schools who have died in traffic accidents during the past three years.
Services for the two girls will be held at 10:30 a.m today, Thursday, July 18, in the Cement High School Auditorium, with Rev. Alvin Roberts, pastor of the Cement Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Danna Kay Golden was born September 22, 1979 in Chickasha and died Sunday, July 14, 1996 of injuries received in an automobile accident near Cement.
She lived all her life in the Cement area. She attended school in Cement School. She was to have been a sophomore this year. She was a member of the Cement Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Danna was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Minnie and Roy Cates and her paternal grandparents.
Survivors include her mother, Pam Touchet of the home; her father, Jimmy Wayne Golden, of Cyril; one brother, Bron Quinn Touchet, of the home; her paternal grandmother, Susie Golden of Cyril; her maternal great grandparents, Ada Cates of Cement and William Loyd and Ruby Holmes, all of Cement. She is also survived by her fiancee, Justin Turner, of Cyril.
Burial will be in the Laverty Cemetery under direction of Robbins Funeral Home.
