Eltha Edgar Rites Attended By Many Carnegie Friends

Services for Mrs. W.H. Edgar who died Tuesday of last week in Cody, Wyo., were in the Chickasha funeral home Monday and burial was in Laverty cemetery where her father is buried.

Rev. Harry Hubbard, pastor of the First Christian church here, preached the funeral sermon.

Mrs. Edgar died of a brain tumor. She had spent the night in a clinic but the following morning the doctor said she could return home. She was stricken suddenly and 15 minutes later died in the doctor's office.

Eltha Louise Shelnutt was born at Laverty Oct. 20, 1911.

She was married to W.H. Edgar in 1928 in Chickasha.

She attended the Chickasha schools and lived in and near Chickasha most of her life.

Mr. and Mrs. Edgar moved to Carnegie in 1948 and were associated with the W.F. Taylor insurance agency. Mrs. Taylor is an aunt of Mrs. Edgar.

Mrs. Edgar joined the Eastern Star here and was active in the chapter. She was appointed to the star point office of Esther a year ago and held that office when she and Mr. Edgar moved to Wyoming several months ago to make their home.

Survivors are the mother, Mrs. J.A. Shelnut, Chickasha; two sisters, Mrs. Leo Chambers, Chickasha, and Mrs. J.T. Eggleston, East St. Louis, Mo., and a brother, Wayne A. Shelnutt, CBM, US navy, USS Helena.

Among those who attended the funeral from Carnegie were Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Taylor, Mrs. J.H. Kindblade, Mrs. A.J. Hooker, Mrs. R.C. Schaefer, Mrs. E.A. Jones, Mrs. Jim Reynolds, Mrs. Anna Ford, Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Willis and Mrs. Barney DeLong.
