Hollie R. Cocheran
Services Are Held for Mr. Cocheran Funeral Services were held Saturday, Oct 4 for Hollie Russell Cocheran, 74, of Route 1, Cement. Services were conducted in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel, Chickasha, with Adrian Smith of the Sterling Church of Christ officiating.
Interment was in the Laverty Cemetery under direction of the Brown Funeral Home.
Mr. Cocheran was born April 6, 1906 at Moorehead, Kentucky. He died Oct 2, 1980 at his home in Laverty, Okla.
He was a retired farmer, coming to Grady County the first time in 1906 as a baby. The family left Oklahoma for Kentucky in 1911. Then in 1916, Hollie returned to the Grady County area.
He was married to Ethel Grimm on May 12, 1948 at Anadarko. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Allie Cocheran, three sisters, Nora White, Corda Payne and Effie Hamrick.
Mr. Cocheran is survived by his wife, Effie of the home; two daughters, Edna Sue Chandler of El Reno, Okla. and Jean Ann Birch of Saint Louis, Mo.; two sons, Mickey Cocheran and Floyd Dee Cocheran, both of Chickasha; a brother, Wick Cocheran of Cement; two sisters, Ethel Akins of Chickasha and Lula Elliott of Searcy, Arkansas; also two grandchildren.
