Graveside funeral for Roy R. Carter, 74, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 13, 1988 , in the Laverty Cemetery.
He was born Sept 27, 1913 , in Chickasha and died Friday, June 10, 1988 in Norman.
Roy was a life long resident of Chickasha , except for a short period when he served in the United States Army during World War II.
Roy married Damie Elliott on July 3, 1947 in Chickasha.
He was a member of the Church of Christ and was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Roy retired from The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma where he worked in the maintenance department.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Grady Carter.
Survivors include his wife, Damie Carter of the home, one daughter, Sherrie Carter Ryan of Chickasha; two sons Roger Elliott Carter of the home, Joe Carter of Oregon; one sister, Ruby Walker of Connerville, one brother, Merle Carter of Sugarland, Texas; one grand daughter, Susan Carter of Los Angeles, Calif.; one grandson, Josh Carter of Oregon, one niece and two nephews.
Interment will be in Laverty Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
