Mr. Savage was born on February 22, 1908, and died on May 10, 2005. © The Chickasha Daily Express Chickasha, Oklahoma May 12, 2005 Edgar C. Savage February 22, 1908 ~ May 10, 2005 Graveside service for Edgar C. Savage, age 97 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2005, in Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. Elmer Schwarz will officiate. Edgar C. Savage was born the son of Olan Savage and Margaret Lowe Savage on February 22, 1908, in Fairbury, Nebraska. He died on May 10, 2005, in Chickasha. After high school, Edgar became a bricklayer apprentice. He later became a brick layer and worked in Missouri where he met his future wife, Nadine Borron. They were married on November 14, 1929. In 1947 Edgar and his family moved to Lawrence, Kansas, where he became a foreman and then supervisor. He retired at the age of seventy. In 1991, he and his wife moved to Chickasha. Edgar was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Vera, Leora, and Aubrey, his wife, and one son, Richard Savage. Survivors include: daughter: Gloria Rhodes of Lawrence, Kansas; daughter and son-in-law: Maria and Jay M. Harader of Chickasha; daughter-in-law: Shirley Savage of Lawrence, Kansas; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. |
