© Chickasha Express~Star Chickasha, Oklahoma August 2017 May 15, 1939 ~ August 28, 2017 Alice Marie Luers was born May 15, 1939 in Batesville, Indiana to Louis and Florence [Nauert] Effinger. She passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the ge of 78. She married Raymond Elmer Luers on September 10, 1960 in Batesville, Indiana and moved to Chickasha in 1976. Alice loved to work volunteer at Holy Name Catholic Church wherever and whenever she was needed. She was a preschool teacher’s aide at Epworth Methodist Church for many years. She was a Religious Education teacher at Holy Name for years and was Director of Religious Education for about 17 years. She retired in 2012. Alice was a cancer survivor since 1999. She loved going to her grandchildren’s school activities and anything they were involved in. She also loved to work in her flower garden, work crossword puzzles and liked sports of all kinds. Alice loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They brought so much love and enjoyment in her life. She was also blessed to have so many friends. She is preceded in death by her paretns and her husband, Raymond Elmer Luers on March 14, 2017. Alice is survived by her children: Tammy Singleton and her husband, Boyd; Grandchildren: Joshua and Zachary Luers and Elizabeth Bailey; Great Grandchildren: Owen Luers, Blaire Luers, Lincoln Luers, Jace Luers, Emery Luers, Jessalyn McBride, Kylin Chaffin, Kaylie Chaffin, Ryder Bailey, Olivia Bailey, Jaelynn and Kaydence Ramirez, Easton East, Joslyn East and Lincoln Luers. |
