© Chickasha Star Chickasha, Oklahoma July 1, 1965, pg 5, col 4 June 28, 1872 ~ June 26, 1965 Rosary was said at 8 p.m. Monday in Sevier's Funeral Home chapel with requiem mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Name Catholic Church for John Math Denn, who died Saturday morning, June 26, in a local nursing home. Rev. A. O. Murphy officiated. Mr. Denn was born June 28, 1872 in Hastings, Minn., and moved to Grady county in 1901 and was a farmer-stockman all his life. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Farmers Union and served several years on the Meridian election board. His wife, Eva Susie Denn preceded him in death on October 25, 1958. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Powers of Fresno, Calif., Mrs. Ted Powell of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Ray Whiting of Playa Del Rey, Calif.; four sons, Barney Denn and Alva Denn of Pinedale, Calif., Leo Denn and Sylvester Denn of Rt. 1, Pocasset. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Interment was in Holy Name section of Rose Hill Cemetery. |
