THREE ARE HELD IN DEATH PROBE
Chapman Brothers Detained by Officers While County Attorney Investigates Stabbing to Death of Farmer.
Three brothers, T. W. Chapman, C. F. Chapman and Ed Chapman, are being held in the county jail pending investigation into a fight which early this morning resulted in the death of William Fitzpatrick, a young farmer.
From the effects of injuries sustained Saturday night when he was stabbed in the stomach, Fitzpatrick died this morning in a local hospital.
His body is now being held in the S. J. Anderson morgue pending the making of funeral arrangements.
The victim of the fight was 20 years of age. For some time he had been making his home with his brother-in-law, Roy Hill, who lives near this city.
The fight, according to officers, started at a dance at the home of C. F. Chapman.
Investigation into the affair is being conducted today by Ben Goff, county attorney. No charges will be filed until after the investigation has been completed, Mr. Goff said today.
The Chapman brothers, officers say, are farmers living east of Amber.
