Frances Wanna Townsend

Funeral service for Frances Wanna Townsend, 82, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2004, at the First Baptist Church of Chickasha.

Frances Wanna Townsend was born September 22, 1922, in Pocasset, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ira Newton and Clara Zenobia (Cuthburtson) Davis, and died Tuesday, September 28, 2004, in Chickasha.

Mrs. Townsend had lived in Chickasha since 1926.

She and Russell Townsend were married May 28, 1939, in Chickasha.

He preceded her in death August 1, 2000.

She had been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1926, where she taught Sunday School and attended Training Union with her family.

Mrs. Townsend was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Fred and Ira Davis, two sisters, Ruth Davenport and Ruby Haley, and great granddaughter, Jordan Souders.

Survivors include five sons and their wives: Russell and Ann Townsend of Mustang, Oklahoma, Henry and Reba Townsend of Friend, Oklahoma, Melvin and Norma Townsend of Amber, Oklahoma, David and Karen Townsend of Mustang, Oklahoma, Curtis and Meredith Townsend of Chickasha, Oklahoma; one daughter and her husband, Sharon and Richard Souders of Pocasset, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Friendship Cemetery, Pocasset, Oklahoma, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
