© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Sunday, October 23, 2005 Alma Mae [King] Davidson November 23, 1909 ~ October 21, 2005 Funeral service for Alma Mae Davidson, 95, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2005 at the Epworth United Methodist Church. Alma Mae Davidson was born November 23, 1909, near Elgin, Oklahoma to Druie and Francis (Snell) King and died October 21, 2005 in Chickasha. She lived and attended school in Fletcher. She married Nathan Davidson on November 23, 1930. Alma attended nursing school at the old Chickasha Hospital. She also attended nursing school in St. Louis at the Barnes Hospital form medical nursing for six months. She worked at the old Chickasha Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital for many years as the head registered nurse in Obstetrics. She was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. U.M.W. Group 3. She belonged to a travel club and traveled in the U.S., Europe amd Mexico. She went to Israel and Greese with a church group and made her last trip to Canada. Alma was preceded in death by: husband: Nathan Davidson, one son: Carl Davidson, two sisters: Gertrude Bibb and Edna Williams, two brothers: Albert and Dick King. Survivors include: two sons: Keith Davidon and his wife Wanda of Chickasha; Ronald Davidson and wife Charly of Chickasha; two daughters: Chloie Sue Rozell and husband Don of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Iris Simpson and husband David of Oklahoma City; two brothers: Howard King of San Diego, California; Floyd King of Fletcher, Oklahoma, 10 grandchildren: Vick Hubbard, Larry Davidson, Dewain Davidon, Rusty Boswell, Dustin Boswell, Cindy Hoffman, Amanda Davidson and husband Warner Springet, Angela Davidson, Angele Berry and Terri Martinez; 15 great grandchildren: Jody, Rebecca and Allison Hubbard; Michael and Eric Davidson, Nathan and Austin Davidson; Shelby and Kristin Bayless; Russel Boswell, Sadie Boswell, Shaun Berry, Destre Berry, Eric and Lindsey Martinez; one great great granddaughter: Madison Boswell. Interment will be in the Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |

Services to celebrate Gene's life will be 10 AM Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Southside Missionary Baptist Church, 718 S. Post Rd, Midwest City, OK Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery in Pocassett, Oklahoma at 2 PM. Eugene "Gene" Davidson entered into eternal rest with his heavenly Father on Friday, February 26, 2016 at the age of 89. Eugene was born in the family home in Pocassett, Oklahoma on November 30, 1926 to his parents, Eugene Gibson and Cora Amanda [Chancelor] Davidson. He graduated from Pocassett High School in 1944 and soon after graduation, he entered the Merchant Marines. After Gene served his time on the ships taking supplies across the vast waters where they were needed, he separated from the Merchant Marines and was quickly drafted on March 13, 1946 by the U.S. Army and was sent to Camp Chaffee, Arkansas to endure boot camp. While serving his country, Eugene spent most of his time in the Phillipines. His duties in the U.S. Army included, Rifleman, driving light duty trucks, portable power generator operator and working on generators. Gene was honorably discharged after 18 months of service on September 7, 1947, in Camp Stoneman, California. Gene met the love of his life, Vineta Barentine, and they were married on May 8, 1949 in Vineta's home, 15 miles East of Cordell. He worked as a carpenter for 2 years before he began his career of 37 years, working in oil field supply stores. Gene was an avid fisherman and he loved Blue Grass Music. He made a personal decision to give his life to his Lord and Savior during a revival, at Highland Missionary Baptist Church. After attending Highland Missionary Baptist Church for many years, he and Vineta joined Southside Missionary Baptist Church and have remained faithful members since. Gene's favorite Book of the Bible was the Book of Romans, but he had many more that he cherished as well. Gene was preceded in death by his: Parents; Twin Brothers, Bob Davidson, 6 weeks old and Pat Davidson; 2 Sisters, Peggy Pitt and Ellen Louise Rainy. He leaves behind his loving: Wife of 66 years, Vineta; Daughter, Jeannette; Brother, Otto Davidson; Sister, Barbara Dobry; And many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. |
