August 29, 1968 ~ August 5, 2006 Funeral service for Eric Scott Huffine Word, 37, of Oklahoma City was held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2006 in the First Baptist Church of Tuttle. Eric Scott Huffine Word was born August 29, 1968 in Stockton, Calif. He died Saturday August 5, 2006 in Oklahoma City. He was the son of Richard and Mary Carolyn Huffine Word. He had lived in Woodward, Tuttle, Norman and Oklahoma City for many years. Eric worked for the Oklahoma State Health Department as Supervisor in Shipping and Receiving. He adored his grandparents and loved his cat "Meek." His grandparents Lucille Huffine, Idys Frank Turner, Anna Turner and Marshall Word preceded him in death. Survivors include his mother, Mary Carolyn Huffine Word Roller of Harlingen, Texas; his father, Richard Word of Oklahoma City; one brother, Joshua Word and his wife Veronica of San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Kirsten Word of Harlingen, Texas; one niece, Emily Word of San Diego, Calif.; grandparents, H.V. Huffine and wife Joan of LaFeria, Texas and Elta Word of Oklahoma City; an aunt, Becky Ernest and husband Melvin of Norman; three uncles, Jimmy Finley Huffine of Grapevine, Texas, Bill Turner and wife Lou of Tuttle, and Bill Word and wife Janie of Enid; three great aunts, Eletha Jessup of Tuttle, Norma Ruth White of Noble, Okla. and Lucille Anna Huffine of Lawton, Okla.; great uncle, Jim Huffine of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and numerous cousins and friends. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, Okla. under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle. |
