Carl Jackson "Jack" Walker
March 26, 1925 ~ June 6, 2007


Funeral service for Carl Jackson "Jack" Walker, 82, of Tuttle, Oklahoma will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Tuttle.

Carol Jackson "Jack" Walker died peacefully, as he went to meet the Lord, surrounded by family on June 6, 2007.

Jack was born on March 26, 1925 to William and Ella Walker.

Jack attended Tuttle schools, then served in the U.S. Navy, upon the U.S.S. Randall, during World War II with honorable discharge.

Following the war, he returned home to marry his wife, Elwanda.

Jack drove for Lee Way Motor Freight and Transcon for eleven years. In 1964 he began Jack Walker Oil Company, a Phillips 66 distributor, in Tuttle, Oklahoma. He loved greeting new customers and making new friends. Just three weeks ago, he was still riding in bobtail trucks delivering fuel.

Jack can be described as a hard working man who was willing to share an easy conversation, a quick smile or a good joke.

Jack was preceded in death by both parents, two sisters, two brothers and one grandson, Brian Stewart.

Jack is survived by: his lovely wife of 61 years, Elwanda, who has always been right by his side, one daughter: Jan Stewart and husband Jim of Tuttle, three sons: Jackie Walker of Tuttle; Greg Walker of Tuttle; Ron Walker and wife Paula of Edmond; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.

Elwanda [Shook] Walker
October 25, 1925 ~ April 9, 2011


Elwanda Walker of Tuttle OK passed away peacefully at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City OK on April 9, 2011, at the age of 85. She was born Elwanda Shook on October 25, 1925, to B.G. and Iris Shook. Elwanda was a graduate of Tuttle High School and attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee OK.

She was looking so forward to being reunited with Jack, her beloved husband of 61 years, and her grandson Brian Stewart. Elwanda married Jack Walker on June 19, 1946, in Tuttle OK. Together they raised four children: one daughter and three sons.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Elwanda worked for several years alongside her husband at their family business, Jack Walker Oil Company, Inc.

They always enjoyed traveling in their RV with friends. She will always be remembered for her smile, courage, and unconditional friendship. Her smile always warmed the most burdened heart, and she never forgot to say "I Love You, Shug."

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson Brian Stewart.

Elwanda is survived by her daughter Jan Stewart and husband Jim of Tuttle; sons Ronnie Walker and wife Paula of Yukon OK, Jackie Walker of Tuttle, and Greg Walker of Tuttle; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother Warren Shook and wife Joy of Tuttle; and sister Mary Skaggs and husband Gerald of Tuttle.

She is greatly loved and will always be missed by all who knew her.
