Jack Monroe Thomas
August 23, 1919 ~ May 8, 2016


Jack Monroe Thomas, age 96 of Oklahoma City, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016.

A farm boy, Jack was the 4th of 8 children born to William Alexander Thomas and Fannie Fanchion [Hodges] Thomas, on August 23, 1919 in Wolf, OK. Jack grew up in Newcastle. He drove the school bus and was Senior Class President - Graduating in 1940.

On July 8, 1942, he married his high school sweetheart and true love, Miss Elois Carl.

As the war escalated, he joined the United States Army and was stationed in Okinawa. He proudly served during W.W. II, for 3 years, 3 months and 11 days.

After the war, he returned home to Elois and they settled in OKC, and raised one daughter, Becky.

Jack and Elois owned and operated their own business, Jack M. Thomas Plumbing CO. for many years.

They loved traveling and visited all 50 states, Canada and Mexico. Jack loved country music and the Grand Old Opry. He enjoyed gardening, watching TV, and his family.

He was a longtime member of Northwest Baptist Church in OKC before moving his membership back to the First Baptist Church in Newcastle.

Throughout his life, Jack maintained a close relationship with Newcastle family and friends, and was proud to share Newcastle history about the "Ole Timers" with anyone who would listen. Jack was a true Christian, a patriot, and proud of "the red, white and blue". He leaves a wonderful legacy for his family and will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by: His wife, Elois Thomas; His parents, William and Fannie Thomas; 1 sister, Ovie Price and 5 brothers, Adrian, Clarence "Bud", Burl, Willard and Fred "Ted" Thomas

Jack leaves behind: His daughter, Becky Pritchett and husband Peter of Bethany; Grandsons, Nathan Pritchett and wife Shelley Kerr of Tulsa and Matthew Pritchett of Martin, TN; 3 great grandsons, Jack, Alex and Sam Pritchett; and His baby sister Tootsie Dunning and her husband Roy of Newcastle And Many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Graveside Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Newcastle. Send online condolences at wilsonlittle.com

Elois [Carl] Thomas
March 5, 1922 ~ February 10, 2005


Elois Thomas, age 82, of Oklahoma City, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2005 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Elois Thomas was born March 5, 1922 in Newcastle. She was the youngest of seven children born to William Thomas Carl and Hattie [McGee] Carl. Elois grew up in Newcastle and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1940. After high school she attended one year of college at the University of Oklahoma.

On July 8, 1942, she married her high school sweetheart, Jack Monroe Thomas. This past year they celebrated 62 years of marriage. After Elois and Jack got married, Jack spent three and one-half years in the U. S. Army during WWII. After the war was over he returned to Oklahoma in 1946, and they moved to Oklahoma City.

In 1960, they opened their own business called "Jack M. Thomas Plumbing Co." where she was the bookkeeper and office manager.

She was a member of the N. W. Baptist Church in OKC for 30 years and for the past 20 years has been a member of the First Baptist Church in Newcastle.

Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling with Jack. They visited every state in the U.S., also traveling to Canada and Mexico. Her passions in life were shopping, talking on the telephone and reading her Bible.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hattie Carl; two brothers, T. W. and Jack Carl; and four sisters, Blanche Smith, Mary Lee Thomas, Dortha Harman and Elsie Whalen. Survivors include her husband, Jack, of the home in OKC; one daughter, Becky Pritchett and husband Peter of Bethany; two sisters~in~law, Pauline Carl Wilcox of McAlester, Okla, and Tootsie and Roy Dunning of Newcastle; two grandsons, Nathan Pritchett and wife Shelley of Tulsa and Matthew Pritchett of San Diego, Calif.; three great grandsons, Jack, Alex and Sam; and many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

A graveside funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Elmore. Arrangements by Wilson~Little Funeral home in Newcastle.

James Keese "Jim" Thomas
February 16, 1926 ~ September 22, 2013


James K. "Jim" Thomas, 87, of Tuttle, died Sunday, September 22, 2013, in Oklahoma City. The son of William Henry and Edna Mae [Gatlin] Thomas, he was born February 16, 1926 in Keota, Oklahoma.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army and worked as a carpenter for many years.

Jim married Betty Sasser on April 6, 1953 in Van Buren, Arkansas.

He owned and operated Jim Thomas Auto Salvage and Wrecker Service in Tuttle since September of 1974.

In his spare time, he enjoyed buying and restoring old cars, hunting, and fishing. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin granddaughters, Karis Danielle and Abby Nicole Thomas; two brothers, Jay and Bob Thomas; and a sister, Ethel Lowe.

Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Thomas of Tuttle; five sons, J.B. Thomas of Tuttle, Richard Thomas of Oklahoma City, Jimmy Thomas and wife, Jennifer, of Yukon, Dennis Thomas and wife, Sherrie, of Tuttle, and Donald Thomas and Theresa Hathaway of Tuttle; four grandchildren, Katie Havens of Bridge Creek, Jacob Thomas of Yukon, Jonathan Thomas of Yukon, and Zack Thomas of Tuttle; two brothers, Olen Thomas and wife, Joann, of Keota, and Kirby Thomas of Keota; one sister, Mary Byrd of Shawnee; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many other loved ones and friends.

Graveside funeral service and burial will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle.
