November 12, 1900 ~ August 7, 1987


Arthur Lee Schrock, 86, passed away Aug 7 at Lawton.

He was born to Frances & Harry Schrock November 12, 1900, the eldest of 7 sons. Preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Lila, 3 brothers, Lannes, Earl "Pete", & B.C.

He is survived by his wife, Emily, 1 daughter, Pat Sposito of North Springfield, VA, 1 son, Buddy Schrock of Marlow, 3 brothers, Homer A of Stillwater, Foster F. of Seattle, WA, & Harry E. of Verden.

He was a Navy veteran of World War I, a graduate of Tuttle high school, helped start football at Tuttle, a graduate of Central State College at Edmond, and a retired teacher at Marlow, where he started in 1927. He owned & operated the Al & Em golf course for many years before turning it over to his son, Bud.

He made it possible for the 40 acre Schrock Park which was his allotment. His mother gave the first right-of-way for the railroad and elevator. His father had the Schrock Ferry Boat in the early 1920's across the South Canadian River to Oklahoma City.

Services were held Monday, August 10, Marlow, with burial at Tuttle Fairview cemetery by Ron Weathers and directed by the Callaway funeral home, Marlow.

Emily Wise [White] Schrock
May 3, 1908 ~ March 31, 1997


Emily Wise [White] Schrock, died Monday, March 31, 1997, at Duncan Regional hospital. She was 88.

Born May 3, 1908 in Hugo to Lyman Wesley & Fleta [McElhaney] White, she had lived in Marlow for 69 years, and was a former resident of Mt. Home and Ringling.May 3, 1908 She attended Southeastern Teacher's college in 1926 & 1927. In 1952, she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Oklahoma College for Women. She began teaching in the Marlow Public school system in 1928. She taught music, social studies, and English until her retorement in 1965. Awards received during her teaching career included Teacher of Today [Masonic Award] in 1961, Oklahoma Teacher of the Year in 1964, and Outstanding Citizen Award in 1965.

Mrs Schrock, a talented pianist, played for the Marlow Lions Club in 1968 and enjoyed serving others by entertaining resident of the local nursing homes with her musical abilities. She was a member of the First United Methodist church in Marlow and had served as pianist and choir director.

Married to Arthur Lee Schrock on May 16, 1931, in Dodge City, KS. He preceded her in death August 7, 1987.

Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law, Arthur Lyndel & Sue Schrock of Marlow, a daughter & son-in-law, Patricia Lee & Ret. Col. Paul Sposito of North Springfield, VA., 5 grandchildren, Connie Rather, Douglas Schrock, Wesley Schrock, Lynn Schrock, & Julie Sposito of Fairfax, VA., 5 great grandchildren, and a sister, Helen [White] Bennett of Marlow.

Funeral services will be held at 11am today, April 3, in the First United Methodist church, with Rev George A. Gilland officiating. Burial, under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb funeral home, will be at 2pm in Tuttle.
