The son of Oscar Ashel and Mattie Mureita [Parker] Rinker, he was born December 21, 1929 in Tuttle, Oklahoma. Oscar married the love of his life, Virginia Levearn Hayes, on December 12, 1951 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He was a carpenter for many years and owned and operated Rinker and Yochum Construction. In his spare time, he enjoyed vegetable gardening and was famous for his tomatoes. Oscar spent countless hours building things for his family. He built birdhouses, planters, playhouses for his grandchildren, and anything else that anyone needed. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 54 years, Levearn Rinker; his sister, Sylvia Fryrear; and brother, Carl Rinker. Oscar is survived by two sons, Leon Rinker and wife, Gladys, of Tuttle and Wayne Rinker and wife, Regina, of Checotah; two daughters, Arlene Young and husband, Richard, of Tuttle and Kathy Shatwell and husband, Keith, of Tuttle; seven grandchildren, Allen Rinker of Tuttle, Crystal Reynolds and husband, Clyle, of Bridge Creek, Jason Rinker and wife, Ashley, of Moore, Sasha Rinker and Junior Robertson of Bethany, Kayse Foster and Jason Holbrook, of Tuttle, Kari Shatwell of Tuttle, and Kristina Hughes of Checotah; nine great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Rinker of Tryon; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other loved ones and friends. Funeral service will be at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle. The son of Oscar A. & Mattie [Parker] Rinker, he married Iva Jean Caldwell on March 18, 1955 in Minco, OK. He worked as a carpenter and maintenance person. Preceding him in death were his parents and 1 sister, Sylvia Fryrear. Survivors include his wife Jean of the home, 3 daughters, & 2 sons-in-law, Nancy deBrun of Tuttle, Gail L. & Chris Marlow of Norman, Sherry A. & Calvin Jones of Chandler, 1 son, David A. Levearn Rinker was born June 10, 1936 near Elmore City, Oklahoma and died Friday, November 11, 2005 in Tuttle, Oklahoma. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. 17 November 2005 June 10, 1936 ~ November 11, 2005 Funeral services for Levearn Rinker age 69 of Tuttle, were held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at the First Assembly of God Church in Tuttle. Levearn Rinker was born June 10, 1936 near Elmore City, Oklahoma to Charlie "Buck" Hayes and Neoma Armour Hayes. She died November 11, 2005 at her home in Tuttle at the age of 69 years. Levearn was raised in the Elmore City area and attended school there. On December 12, 1951 she was married to Oscar Rinker at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. They made Tuttle their lifelong home where they had recently celebrated their fifty-third wedding anniversary. Mrs. Rinker had worked at the Wrangler Restaurant in Newcastle and as dispatcher for the Tuttle Police department, but is primarily remembered as a loving wife, mother and homemaker. Levearn was a charter member of TOPS in Tuttle and she loved to sew. Her handiwork could be seen in her crocheting, embroidery, quilting and other forms of needlepoint. She also enjoyed gardening, whether it was raising flowers or vegetables, and she canned many of the things she raised. On a beautiful day she could often be found participating in another of her favorite pastimes, fishing. She was preceded in death by a brother, Troy. Survivors include: her husband: Oscar Rinker of the home in Tuttle; four children and their spouses: Arlene Young and husband Richard of Tuttle, Leon Rinker and wife Gladys of Tuttle, Kathy Shatwell and husband Keith of Tuttle, Wayne Rinker and wife Regina of Checotah; her parents: Charlie "Buck" and Neoma Hayes of Modesto, California; three brothers: Harvey Hayes of Femley, Nevada, Jimmy Hayes of Oklahoma City, James Hayes of Modesto, California; one sister: Mildred Elston of Gustire, California; seven grandchildren: Allen, Crystal, Jason, Sasha, Kayse, Kari and Kristina; three great grandchildren: Bailey, Brooklyn, and Chanel; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. She had a very special place in her heart for her sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Jean was the daughter of Edgar Allen "Jim" and Elizabeth Mertis [Faulconer] Caldwell. She married Carl Rinker, March 18, 1955, in Minco, Oklahoma. Jean worked in retail sales for many years, and was a seamstress. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, David; son-in-law, Calvin; sister, Betty; and brother, Steve. Survivors include, three daughters, Nancy Debrun of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Gail Marlow of Norman, Oklahoma, and Sherry Jones of Chandler, Oklahoma; two brothers, Paul Caldwell of Blanchard, Oklahoma, and John Caldwell of Tuttle; two sisters, Ruth Ann Carter of Chandler, Oklahoma, and Jo Bowling of Tuttle; grandchildren, Kevin, Joshua, Sean, Gary, Taylor, and Amanda, and seven great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler, with Rev. Bruce Newby officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM, at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, Oklahoma, with Pastor Neil Davis officiating. |
