Joe Edward Potter was born July 7, 1928 and died January 2, 2006. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Tuttle. © The Tuttle Times Tuttle, Oklahoma January 5, 2006 July 7, 1928 ~ January 2, 2006 Funeral services for Joe Edward Potter, 77, of Tuttle, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2006 in the Sowers Memorial Chapel, Tuttle. Joe Edward Potter was born July 7, 1928 in Tuttle, Oklahoma the son of Horace and Wilmuth [Skaggs] Potter and died January 2, 2006 at his home in Tuttle. Joe graduated from Tuttle High School. He and Joyce Hale were married June 18, 1954 in El Reno, Oklahoma. Joe served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated a used truck business. Joe read through the Bible several times. He read the Bible everyday usually first thing in the morning. He always encouraged others to read God's word. Being a friend to Bill W. for 37 years, he always wanted to help others find the way to sobriety. He was a member of the Liberty Christian Church of Tuttle. Joe was preceded in death by: Parents; one brother: Richard Potter; one sister: Gwen Long. Survivors include: Wife: Joyce Potter of the home; two sons: Paul Potter and wife Cindy of Oklahoma City, Bryan Potter of Minco; one daughter: Joni Morgan of Mustang; two brothers: Don Potter and wife Joann of Walters, Dan Potter of Tulsa; one sister: Pat Coale and husband Jim of Blanchard; brother-in-law: Harold Long of Bella Vista; cousin: Jimmie Bennett and husband Jay; grandchildren: Jason Canary, Janae Morgan, Ashley Campbell and husband Jesse, Derick Potter, Brittani Morgan, Cory Potter, Chris Potter and Beau Potter; three great grandchildren: Jade Kating, Harper Johnson and Joe Canary; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Tuttle. |
