James Edward "Pete" Pearce
November 19, 1931 ~ March 13, 1965


Funeral service for James E. "Pete" Pearce, 43, Route 2, Tuttle, will be at 3:30 pm Saturday in Sowers Memorial Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home,Tuttle. Rev Charles Smith will officiate, assisted by Rev. Lloyd Parrott.

Mr. Pearce died Thursday morning. He was born November 19, 1931, in Noble.

He came to the Tuttle area in 1963 from Norman. He was in the dairy business and worked for the Ralph O. Wright Commission Company of Oklahoma City.

He was married on Jan. 16, 1952, in Norman to the former Miss Wilma Lee Capps.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Pamela Lewis of Clarendend, Texas, Miss Diane Pearce of Amarillo, Texas, and Shawnna of the home; three sons, Eddie Lee and Justin Clay of the home, and Teddy of Amarillo; two sisters, Mrs. Leatha Meador of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Marjorie Holley of Norman; one brother, Robert, of Noble; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Pearce of Tuttle.

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle.

Wilma Lee Capps Pearce
January 14, 1934 ~ March 18, 2019


Wilma Pearce, age 85 of Wayne, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019.

Wilma Lee Capps was born January 14, 1934 in Dibble, OK, one of five children born to Marvin Melton Capps and Fannie Mae [Standridge] Capps.

She was raised in Dibble and attended Dibble Schools. Wilma later earned her Associates Degree in Nursing. Wilma loved people and dedicated her life to caring for the needs of others.

She married James Edward Pearce, and they made their home in Tuttle. Together they raised 7 children, sons, Eddie, Jimmy, Teddy and Justin and daughters, Diane, Pam and Shanna.

Wilma worked side by side with James at the family dairy farm, all the while working and raising a young family. She was caring and thoughtful, and always willing to help others. With nearly all her kids grown, Wilma settled in the Purcell/Wayne area, and has called it home ever since. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, sister, aunt and a true friend. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: Her husband, James Pearce; Two sons, Eddie Pearce and Jimmy Pearce; Her parents, Marvin and Fannie Mae Capps and A brother, Melvin Capps.

Wilma is survived by: Her Children, Diane Fulton of Borger, TX, Pam Lewis and husband Steve of Amarillo, TX, Shanna Wood of Mansfield, TX, Teddy Pearce and wife Sandy of Red Bluff, CA and Justin Pearce of Morongo Valley, CA; Two twin sisters, Loren Adair and Dorene Elliott, both of Purcell; Brother, Ted Capps of Wayne; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and A host of other family and friends.

Graveside Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle.

Jimmy Dale Pearce
August 20, 1963 ~ March 13, 1965


Funeral services for Jimmy Dale Pearce, 18-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Pearce, Tuttle, were schedule for 2 pm today in the Tuttle Church of the Nazarene.

Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Eddie and Teddy; two sisters, Diane and Pam; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Capps, Purcell, and Mr and Mrs. J. L. Pearce, Newcastle.

The Rev. Terry Going officiated at the rites, assisted by the Rev. Charles Smith. Music was furnished by Rev. and Mrs. Going.

Pallbearers were Dickie Vandament, Scotty Turner, Randy McComas, and Ronnie McComas. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Sowers Funeral Home.

Jimmy Dale Pearce, 18 months old, Route 1, Tuttle, died March 13, 1965 in the Grady Memorial hospital in Chickasha.

He is survived by his parents, Mr & Mrs James Pearce, 2 brothers, Eddie & Teddie, 2 sisters, Diane & Pam, grandparents, Mr & Mrs Marvin Capps, Route 1, Purcell, and Mr & Mrs J. L. Pearce of Newcastle.

Services were held at 2pm Monday, March 15 in Tuttle Nazarene church with burial in the Fairview cemetery under the direction of Sowers funeral home of Tuttle. Rev Terry Going officiated at the service with Rev Charles Smith assisting. Music was furnished by Rev & Mrs Going. Pallbearers were Dick Vandament, Scotty Turner, Randy & Ronnie McComas.
