© The Tuttle Times Tuttle, Oklahoma July 4, 1968 October 18, 1883 ~ June 27, 1968 Funeral services were held Sunday, June 30, at the Minco Church of Christ, for Mrs Euzella Nickels, with Lester Stowe officiating. Mrs Euzella Nickels, 84, died Thursday at her home from an apparent heart attack. She was born October 18, 1883 in Fulton, KY. She moved to Minco in 1927 from Tuttle, where she had been a resident for 25 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Minco. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Nickels, November 11, 1949, and a daughter, Mrs Nora Carrell. Survivors include 2 sons, Charlie Nickels of El Paso, Tx, & Robert Nickels of Minco, 2 daughters, Mrs Murrell Hinkle & Mrs Faye Hunnicutt of Oklahoma City, 1 adopted daughter, Mrs Velma Clifton, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs Clarence Nelson of Midland, TX & Miss Vivian Gentry of Ft Worth, TX, 2 brothers, Thurston Gentry of El Paso, TX, & Chester Gentry of Ft Worth. Music was furnished by a choir. Pallbearers were Clark Miller, Lee Mackey, Cleyton Redding, Ernest Howery, Bruce Horn, & Robert Wynn. Interment was in the Fairview cemetery, Tuttle, under direction of Reynolds funeral home, Minco. |
© The Tuttle Times Tuttle, Oklahoma December 1, 1966 September 13, 1893 ~ November 21, 1966 Lonnie Bee Nickels, of 3001 SW 40, Oklahoma City, died November 21, 1966, in Woodward of a heart attack. He was born 9/13/1893, in Cleburne, TX. He married Gertie Larcene Elliott in Noble on September 13, 1893. She preceded him in death on 4/2/1942. Mr Nickels was a retired employee of the city of Pamona, Calif, a veteran of World War I, a member of American Legion in Pamona, & a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs W.D. Jones of Oklahoma City, & Mrs L.R. Keller of Woodward, 3 sons, Ben Nickels & J.B. Nickels of Woodward, and Lonnie B. Nickels Jr of Bishop, 3 brothers, John of Elk City, Charles of Pamona, Calif, & Kay of Tecumseh, 2 sisters, Mrs Lillie M. Henry of Oklahoma City & Mrs Ed Farmer of Tuttle, 10 grandchildren, & 3 great grandchildren. Services were held Nov 23, at the Church of Christ in Tuttle, with Hubert Patterson officiating. Music was provided by a choir. Pallbearers were members of the American Legion Post No 176; Jim Copeland, Bert Brown, Bill Jeffries, Walter Potter, Roy Woods, & Clyde Rooker. Color bearers were Charlie Meadows, L.E. Ewing, & Elbert Bazshaw. The flag was presented by the American Legion, Tuttle, Jim D. Parrish, Post Commander. |

Nickels, 90, of Minco, were held Tuesday, 6/13/2000, at the Church of Christ in Minco.May 26, 1910 Robert B. Nickels was born May 26, 1910 at Ft Worth, TX, the son of James Albert & Euzella [Gentry] Nickels. He died Friday June 9, 2000 at Chickasha. Robert lived in the Tuttle and Minco communities for most of his life.May 26, 1910 He was a retired farmer and was a school bus driver. Robert was active at the Minco Senior Citizens Center. He was preceded in death his parents, 1 brother, Charlie Nickels, and 3 sisters, Nora Carrell, Murrell Hinkle, & Ruby Faye Hunnicutt. Survivors include 4 daughters, Bobbie & Bill Ingram of Duncan, Faye Goode of Aubrey, TX, Roberta Prell of Norman, & Evelyn Nickels of Oklahoma City, 7 garndchildren, and a special niece, Velma Clifton of Minco. |

Ruth Marie Martin was born November 7, 1918 in Hughes County near Allen, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Green and Minnie Owens. She died Sunday, December 17, 2006 in Tuttle. Ben David Nickels was born December 28, 1923 in Tuttle, Oklahoma the son of Lonnie B. Nickels, Sr. and Girtie Larcene [Elliott] Nickels and died October 25, 2006 in Chickasha. Mr. Nickels lived in Chickasha for over 15 years. He was preceded in death by: Parents; one brother: J. B. Nickels; one sister: Katie Jones; one daughter: Linda Brannagan. Survivors include: One daughter: Janis Emry; one sister: Liddie Keller; one brother: Lonnie B. Nickels, Jr.; grandchildren: Josh Emry and Heather Emry, Danny Brannagan, Shane Brannagan and wife Jenny; host of nieces and nephews. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |

A trio, Miss Carolyn Marlow, Miss Janet Eaton, & Miss Joyce Hovis furnished the music. Pallbearers were Terry Bomgardner, Kenny Bomgardner, J.H. Welchel, Donnie McCarthy, Danny Crist, Orville McKinney, Ronnie McKinney, Larry McCarthy, Wayne Plumlee, Bob Main, Michael Lawson, & Darrel Lingle. Betty Nickels, 13, was born at Topeka, KS. Joanie Nickels was born at Fayetville, Ark. The sisters were victims of a drowning near their home in Ogallaha, Neb. Survivors are the parents, Mr & Mrs Frank Nickels, 3 brothers, Bobby of Bethany, Larry & Jimmy of the home, 1 sister, Jeanie of the home, grandparents, Mr & Mrs Frank Yeakley of Tuttle. Interment was in Fairlawn cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of the Sowers funeral home. |
