Robert "Bob" Lee Long was born March 4, 1936 in Tuttle, Oklahoma the son of George W. and Virginia Mae [Evans] Long and died August 13, 2006 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Bob graduated from Tuttle High Schol. He and Billie June Hardesty were married August 14, 1955 in Tuttle, Oklahoma. Bob was a farmer and cattleman. He was a member of the FFA, First United Methodist Church, and the Maine Anjou Association. Bob was preceded in death by: Parents: Stepfather: Bud Grines; two brothers: Richard Long and Max Long. Survivors include: Wife: Bilie June Long of the home; three daughters: Kathy Faulkner and husband George of Streetman, Texas; Mary Wilson and husband Tommy of Oklahoma City; Kelly Baker and husband Glenn of Tuttle; one son: William Robert Long and wife Laurie of Slapout, Oklahoma; one sister: Nell Jones of Tuttle; Grandchildren: Adam & Emily Baker, Rebecca Seely, Chris, Cory & Amy Long, Dallas & Stephanie Faulkner, Shane Long; Great grandchildren: Keeley Long, Mollie & Jake Long, Whitney Seely; Nephews: Mack Long & wife Connie of Huson, Montana; and numerous other nieced and nephews. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Church building fune, P. O. Box 190, Tuttle, OK 73089. |
© Sevier Funeral Home Tuttle, Oklahoma February 4, 2011 May 18, 1939 ~ January 31, 2011 Funeral service for Billie June Long, 71, of Tuttle, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church of Tuttle. Billie June Long was born on May 18, 1939 to William Claude “Bill” Hardesty and Alma Lee [Pete] Ezzard Hardesty. She passed away in her home on January 31, 2011. Billie June and Robert Lee “Bob” Long were married on August 14, 1955. They were married one day shy of 51 years. Billie June was raised on a farm and continued working on the farm after she was married to Bob. She also enjoyed taking her children and their livestock to shows to be judged. Bob and Billie June ran a dairy for ten years. She was a bookkeeper at the Tuttle Gin and would also work parttime at the Tuttle Coop to bring extra money into thehome. She is survived by 5 sisters, Georgia Lee Arterberry, Nita Fay and Virgil Voigt,Maybelle Barrett, Anna Jenell Campbell, Mary Ann and James Osborn; 3 daughters, Kathy and George Faulkner of Streetman, TX, Mary and Tommy Wilson of Amber, OK, Kelly and Glenn Baker of Tuttle, OK; 8 grandchildren, Dallas Faulkner of Texas, Stephanie Faulkner of Texas, Adam Baker of Tuttle, Rebecca Seely of El Reno, Emily Kraetzer of Del City, Chris Long of Tuttle, Cory Long of Tuttle, Amy Thomas of Yukon; 7 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, Bob, 1 son, Reverend Bill Long. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle. William Robert "Bill" Long, 46, of Slapout, OK will be Monday, 2:00 p.m. August 3, 2009, at Tuttle United Methodist Church. Rev. Randy Scraper, Bishop Robert. E. Hayes, Jr, and Rev. Steve Harshaw will officiate. William Robert Long was born September 11, 1962, to Robert Lee Long and Billie June Hardesty Long in Chickasha. He died on July 30, 2009, in Slapout, Oklahoma. Bill grew up in Tuttle where he was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served in many capacities. He graduated from Tuttle High School in 1980. He graduated from OSU in 1984 with a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Economics, and received his Master of Divinity Degree from Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa in 2006. He was ordained as an elder in the United Methodist Church in 2009. Bill began as a licensed pastor of the Methodist Churches in Cement and Cyril where he served from 1999 to 2006. During this time, he met his wife Laurie whom he married May 31, 2002 in Cyril. He then moved to Slapout, OK and was minister at the Catesby United Methodist Church and the Fairview (Slapout) United Methodist Church. Prior to beginning work in the ministry, he worked for the IRS for 18 years. He also worked as a chaplain for Heartland Hospice. He was active in Volunteers in Mission, prison ministry, Walk to Amaeus and many other volunteer works. Spending time with his children and grandchildren Keeley, Mollie Jo, and Jake gave him much joy. He also loved hatching and raising poultry, coin collecting, auctions, gardening, ranching, singing, and good conversation. In all things, Bill loved serving the Lord. Bill was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include: Wife of 7 years: Laurie [Myers] Long of the home; Son: Chris Long and wife Melissa of Tuttle; Son: Cory Long of Tuttle; Daughter: Amy Thomas and husband Clinton of Oklahoma City; Step-son: Shane Seitz of the home; Mother: Billie June Long of Tuttle; Grandchildren: Keeley, Mollie Jo and Jake; Sister: Kathy Faulkner and husband George of Streetman, TX; Sister: Mary Wilson and husband Tommy of Amber; Sister Kelly Baker and husband Glenn of Tuttle; Nieces and Nephews: Rebecca and Stephen Seely, Adam and Becca Baker, Emily Baker, Dallas Faulkner, Stephanie Faulkner; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other family, and many, many friends. Private burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha.
