October 20, 1934 ~ March 19, 2016


Eddie Lindsey Jr, 81, of Tuttle, died Saturday, March 19, 2016, in Oklahoma City. The son of Ed Lindsey, Sr. and Elma [McEntire] Lindsey, he was born October 20, 1934 in Canadian County, Oklahoma. He attended Bridge Creek Public Schools his entire life.

Eddie married Norma LaRue Chaney on December 31, 1951 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2016, after 64 years of marriage. Eddie was a Christian in faith. He served as a firefighter for the Oklahoma City Fire Department and achieved the rank of Captain before retiring after 21 years of service. He was a longtime member of the Tuttle Masonic Lodge where he had received his 50 Year pin. Eddie also was an auctioneer and co-owner of C & L Auction Liquidators. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Eddie was a loving husband, a wonderful father and grandfather, and will be missed beyond measure.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma Lindsey; a grandson, Guy Willis; son-in-law, Clay Willis; three sisters, Hazel Caviggia, Lorene Johnson, and Donna Lou Henderson; and one brother, Jim Lindsey.

Eddie is survived by two daughters, Jimmie WieSel and her husband, Daniel, of Moore and Jeanie Willis of Washington and her fiancé, Ken Peters of Blanchard; four grandchildren, Miche' Weber and her husband, Roy, of Midwest City, Lindsey Andrews and her husband, Le, of Oklahoma City, Brandi Coleman and her husband, Michael, of Oklahoma City, and Laura Barefoot and her husband, Brian, of Norman; four great grandchildren, Ruta Andrews, Alazar Andrews, Finley Willis, and Jackson Weber; one sister, Jean Tillian of Gallup, New Mexico; and many other loved ones and friends.

The family would like to thank the physicians and staff of the Integris Hospice House for their care and compassion.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Tuttle First Assembly of God. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle. Norma LaRue Lindsey, 80, of Tuttle, died Sunday, February 28, 2016, in Oklahoma City. The daughter of James Jacob Chaney and Rosalee [Jarmon] Chaney, she was born October 6, 1935 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She grew up in Tuttle and attended Tuttle Public Schools.

She married Eddie J. Lindsey on December 31, 1951 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Norma was a homemaker and was a Christian in faith. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing. Norma was an excellent cook and loved preparing meals for her family. Her great enjoyment came from spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Guy Willis, and one brother, Roe Chaney.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Eddie Lindsey of Tuttle; two daughters, Jimmie WieSel and her husband, Daniel, of Moore and Jeanie Willis of Washington; four grandchildren, Miche' Weber and her husband, Roy, of Midwest City, Lindsey Andrews and her husband, Le, of Oklahoma City, Brandi Coleman and her husband, Michael, of Oklahoma City, and Laura Barefoot and her husband, Brian, of Norman; four great grandchildren, Ruta Andrews, Alazar Andrews, Finley Willis, and Jackson Weber; one sister, Mary Lou Chaney-Marks; one brother, Johnny Chaney and his wife, Bobbie; and many other loved ones and friends.

The family would like to thank the physicians and staff of the Integris Hospice House for their care and compassion.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Tuttle First Assembly of God. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle.
