March 21, 1921 ~ December 24, 2004 Funeral service for Earl Joslin, age 83, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2004, in the Sowers Memorial Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Earl Joslin was born the son of Roy Joslin and Ruth Bolender Joslin, on March 21, 1921, in Tabler, Oklahoma. He died Friday, December 24, 2004, in Tuttle, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 3 days. Earl came from a very large family. He was the eighth, or middle child of fifteen children. His parents were cotton farmers. Earl attended school in the Harris community. He was married to Helen Mosier Joslin for 35 years. He lived in Grady County all of his life except for military service. He lived in Tuttle for the past 24 years. Earl was a truck driver and drove for 38 years for Hoot Scott, Sequoia, Leeway, and the Postal Service. He belonged to the American Legion for twenty years and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. Earl served in the Army Air Corps and went to Fort Sill and Wichita Falls, Texas, for training. While in the service he volunteered to be a cook and he was sent to Lowery Air Base. His group served 5,000 men for each meal. He was stationed in Trinidad, Panama, and Mountain Home, Idaho. He served three years, four months and six days. He was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant at Fort Sam Houston in Texas. His parents, six brothers, and six sisters preceded him in death. Survivors include: his wife Helen Joslin of the home in Tuttle; three sons, Melvin Mosier of Tuttle, Roy Mosier of Blanchard, George Mosier of Artesia, California; one daughter, Linda Trust of Irvine, California; two sisters, Glenna Whinery of Modesto, California, Billie Cavin of Ahwahnee, California; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and many loving friends. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather and we will all miss him. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetry, Tuttle, Oklahoma, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle. © Sevier Funeral Home Chickasha, Oklahoma February 2019 December 21, 1919 ~ February 3, 2019 Helen Elisabeth [Wampler] Mosier Joslin, of Tuttle, OK, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Autumn Leaves Assisted Living in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 99. Mrs. Joslin was born December 21, 1919 near Tuttle, Oklahoma to George and Maggie [Conley] Wampler. Helen married Tom Mosier on September 12, 1935. She worked for Standard Cable during the war and also worked at the school cafeteria for 3 years. Tom passed away on September 15, 1965 and in that same year she began working for the Amber Post Office and became Postmaster in 1981 and retired in 1985. Helen married Earl Joslin on January 18, 1969 and he preceded her in death on December 24, 2004. She resided in Tuttle till 2016 when she moved to Oklahoma City and resided in the assisted living center till her passing. Helen was a good seamstress and loved to crochet and embroidery and she loved to read. She enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball and basketball. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Blanchard, OK. She is also preceded in death by her parents, George and Maggie Wampler; a son, Melvin Mosier and a grandson, Steven Mosier; brothers: Hart Wampler, Raymond Wampler, Lon Wampler and George Wampler; sisters: Thelma Hooker and Jean Baker. Helen is survived by her children: George Mosier and wife, Carol, of Oklahoma City, OK; Roy Mosier and wife, Barbara, of Blanchard, OK; and Linda Trust and husband, Michael Caulderan, of Tustin, CA; Sisters: Margqueritte Novotny of Chickasha, OK; and Pauline Martin of Amber, OK; 9 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. |
