© The Tuttle Times Tuttle, Oklahoma October 27, 1938 October 9, 1852 ~ October 16, 1938 Peter Jansen "uncle Pete" of Snow Hill community, died Sunday October 16, 1938. He would have been 87 on the 19th. He was born and reared in Indiana. He married Mrs. Nancy Maria Cunningham. They had one son, Peter, who died at the age of 21 after coming out of the Army at the close of the war. Service was held by a Catholic Priest of Chickasha at Sowers Funeral home Wednesday. He was buried at Tuttle beside his wife. He had 2 step children. |
© The Tuttle Times Tuttle, Oklahoma August 25, 1932 Mrs Peter Jansen died suddenly at her home 6 ½ miles east and 3 miles south of Tuttle Monday. She was 75 years of age and a pioneer here, having come to Tuttle in 1905 with her husband and 2 children, and settled on what is now the Putnam property across from the grade school. In 1918, the Jansen's moved to their farm east of town. Their only son, Pete, died in 1921 at the age of 21 and is buried in Fairview cemetery. Their daughter, Mrs DeBerry, died some time ago. Besides Mr Jansen, there are 3 grandchildren surviving her. The funeral will be held at the Church of Christ Thursday with Rev I.Y. Rice, substitute pastor for Rev W.M. Thompson. Interment was Thursday in the family lot at Fairlawn cemetery, handled by Harry Sowers funeral home. |
