© The Tuttle Times Tuttle, Oklahoma September 5, 2013 March 27, 1919 ~ September 2, 2013 Funeral service for Anna Lee Henderson, 94, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013, at the Tuttle United Methodist Church. Anna Lee Henderson was born March 27, 1919, in Tuttle, and passed away September 2, 2013, at her home in the presence of her family. Anna Lee was the oldest of three children born to Lynn and Oma Bowman. She attended school in Tuttle and San Antonio, Texas, graduating from Tuttle High School in 1937. She and her husband, Elmo, were married for 67 years. Anna Lee's life cannot be described without also including Elmo's because they were one in mind and heart. Anna Lee's greatest joys and accomplishments were that of being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She and Elmo lovingly nurtured their three children, Merilyn, Terry, and Judy, and set a high standard of loving stability for all to emulate. Their home was a magnet for happy and boisterous family gatherings throughout their lives. It is hard to imagine a better set of parents and grandparents than they. Anna Lee was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and was on the cradle roll of the Tuttle United Methodist Church. She and Elmo were very active in the church throughout their marriage. Although we miss her already, our sadness is minor because we celebrate the fine life she lived, and we rejoice at having the privilege of being her children and grandchildren. Anna Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Lynn and Oma Bowman, daughter, Merilyn Pierce, and husband, Elmo. Survivors include a son, Terry Henderson and wife, Pat, daughter, Judy McGee, 9 grandchildren: Monte Pierce, Larry Frey and wife, Lisa, Wendy Marble and husband, Jim, Robin Dunavant and husband, Bobby, Perry Pierce and wife, Pat, Tom Perce and wife, Sun Young, Rich McGee, Nancy McGee, Taylor Henderson and wife, Aimee; 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, sister Mary Geraldine Hollis, and brother, Bud Bowman.
