George Wayne "Buzz" Gambill
December 21, 1937 ~ March 20, 2009


Services for George Gambill, of Desert Hot Springs, CA, will be held Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, Oklahoma.

Mr. Gambill was born on December 21, 1937 in Chickasha, OK to his parents, Bill Clayton Gambill and Ruth Burris Gambill. He went to be with his Lord on March 20, 2009 in Desert Hot Springs, CA.

Buzz graduated from Chickasha High School and then served a couple of years in the U.S. Navy. He soon made his home in CA.

He worked for Gene Autry for years and they became very dear friends. He was self- employed as a professional cartoonist and did caricatures of famous people, in which he published a book called the "Valley of the Stars". He began his own T-shirt shop, the Tee-Bo-Teek, and then later started the famous "Valley Breeze" Newspaper.

He is preceeded in death by his parents, companion Suzanne Gambill, brother, Billy Carol Gambill, sister, Sandra Lynn Gambill, Uncles Vincent Gambill, Clifford Gambill, Eldon Gambill and Wendell Gambill. He is survived by his beloved friend, Carolaine Peticca, Sisters, Sue Gambill Haworth, Marilynn Gambill Penwright, Sister-in-law, Bernice Gambill, Nephews, Kurt and Kent Gambill, John Haworth and Tanner Fisher, Nieces, Kris Martinez and Wendy Abrahamson, Uncle, Gene and wife Fernie Burris and Aunt, Bernice Gambill and numerous other relatives and friends.

Buzz Gambill made a big impact on Desert Hot Springs, and he loved his town and country as evidenced by his newspaper.

He was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed. In the words of Buzz himself, "See ya at the reunion!"
