© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma June 8, 2005 October 3, 1935 ~ June 5, 2005 Betty Lou Forbes, age 69, of Tuttle, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2005 in OKC. She was born on October 3, 1935 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She was the youngest born to G. A. Tankersley and Goldie S. Hale. At the age of seven, her family moved to Midwest City. There she grew up and later graduated in 1954, from North East High School. She married Jerry C. Forbes in 1955 and they had two children. Betty worked nearly 20 years at General Motors before retiring in the 1990s. Some of her earlier jobs included being a newspaper typist, working for Maremont Corp., and working as a highway flag person. Betty enjoyed being outdoors: she enjoyed watching sports, playing and coaching softball, but mostly she enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports. Betty also enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and collecting for the home. She will be remembered for her unique personality and the love she had for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, G. A. and Goldie Tankersley; and two sisters, Eva Mae McClure and Norma Jean Lovegrove. Survivors include one daughter, Sue Ellis of Tuttle; one son, Ronnie Forbes and wife Janis of Bridgecreek; seven grandchildren, William Earley and wife Bonnie, Kee Earley and wife Heather, Tyson Earley, Whitney Forbes, Jamie Bigham, Dalis and Jessica Forbes; three great grandchildren, Destiny, Joshua and Benjamin; a soon to be born grandchild; one sister, Reba Legel and husband Philip of Metamora, Illinois; one brother, Billy Jean Pitts and wife Cletha of Broken Arrow; one uncle, Burt Robinett of Vanburen, Arkansas; also a life long friend, Lynn Cameron of Tuttle. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 9th, 2005 at Snow Hill Baptist Church, east of Tuttle. Officiating will be Rev. Emery Dye. Eulogist, Manford Tucker. Pallbearers will be William, Kee and Tyson Earley, Dalis Forbes, Jamie Bigham and Gary Redburn. Honorary bearers will be, Teddy, Eddy, Billy, Roy and Boyd Killman, James Hibdon and Kenny Idle. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle.
