Winnie Lee [Barefoot] Davis
May 11, 1910 ~ April 19, 2004


Winnie Lee Barefoot, was born May 11, 1910 to Thomas Duncan and Eliza Kathryn Barefoot in Roff, OK.

She graduated from Tuttle H.S. and began teaching in the Newcastle area.

Winnie married Robert Brandon 'Bob' Davis on January 14, 1939.

She then worked at Douglas Aircraft during the war years.

Teaching was always her choice of a career and she earned a B.S. in education in May of 1950. Winnie spent the major part of her teaching career at Columbus Grade School in southeast OKC.

She was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ for 45 years and taught Sunday school class as well as English. She enjoyed quilting and filling baskets for the shut ins.

Her husband Bob preceded her in death in May 1985.

She is survived by her daughter, Telowa of West Linn, OR; brother in law, Jack Davis; 4 grandchildren, Jim Floyd and wife Rita, Jami Floyd, Kelly and husband Kevin Coleman, and Kevin Floyd; 6 great grandchildren, Elizabeth, J.B., Billy, Spenser, Alivia and Emelia; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services to celebrate her life will be held 10:00 AM Friday at Vondel Smith South Colonial Chapel with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, OK.
