© The Tuttle Times Tuttle, Oklahoma July 21, 1960 February 6, 1877 ~ July 17, 1960 C.A. "Curtie" Davidson, 83, passed away Sunday morning at the Hillcrest Convalesance home, Oklahoma City. He was born in Crossroads, KY, 1/6/1877 and came to Indian Territory 77 years ago. He carried the mail, horseback, from Minco to Silver City to Waldon and to Newcastle, in the early days. He married Bertha Copp in January 1901, on horseback, in the middle of the South Canadian River. A member of the Baptist church, he was a farmer until his retirement and lived for many years in the Tuttle vicinity. Services were held at the First Baptist church, Tuttle, on Tuesday, with Rev F.C. Hamilton officiating. Burial was in Fairlawn cemetery, Tuttle, under direction of the Sowers funeral home. Survivors are 8 sons, Alvin of Tuttle, Jack, Allen, Oscar, Jesse, Jim, & Leon, all of Oklahoma City, & Ernest of Hallock, Minn, 1 daughter, Mrs Ray Singltary of Tuttle, & 1 brothers, Roy A. Davidson of Cache. Mr Davidson died July 17 in Oklahoma City. Pallbearers were Regnold Petty, Clyde Jones, Clyde Jansen, L.D. McConnell, Jack Davis, & Cecil Leslie. |
© The Tuttle Times Tuttle, Oklahoma May 3, 1956 November 20, 1884 ~ April 25, 1956 Funeral rites were held Saturday afternoon for Mrs Bertha Davison, 71, who died Wednesday after a 2 months illness. Rev S.C. Hamilton officiated at the service in the First Baptist church in Tuttle. Mrs Davison had lived around Tuttle practically all of her life. She is survived by her husband, Curtis, of Tuttle, 1 daughter, Mrs Lois Singletary of Tuttle, 8 sons, Alvin of Tuttle, A.J. of Wheatland, Ernest of Dallas, Port of Wash, Oscar & Jesse of Oakland, Calif, James P. Allen & Leon of Oklahoma City. Music was provided by Mrs Guy Ward, Bill Marlow, & Mrs H.O. McClendon. Pallbearers were Clyde Jones, Cyde Janssen, David Huffman, R.H. Eades, Clifford Kettler, & Carlos Cox. Burial was in Fairlawn cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of the Sowers funeral home. |
