© Wilson-Little Funeral Home Purcell, Oklahoma March 2018 Kenneth Wayne Carr January 8, 1958 ~ March 10, 2018 Kenneth Wayne Carr, age 60 of Newcastle, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in Yukon. Kenneth was born January 8, 1958 in Oklahoma City. He was the youngest of three children born to James Leon “J.L.” Carr and Doris Aldean [Cooley]. Kenneth grew up in Newcastle and graduated from Newcastle High School with the class of 1977. While in high school he enjoyed playing in the band. In 1980 Kenneth began working for The National Elevator Industry and continued working for them until he retired in 2017. On Feb. 13, 1987 he married the love of his life, Julia Mae Mappin. They made their home in Newcastle from 1990 to 2005. Kenneth was then transferred to Laughlin, Nevada and worked there until his health began to fail. In 2017 he moved back to Newcastle, the place he called home and where his children could help take care of him during his illness. Throughout his life, Kenneth had a love for fast cars and enjoyed working on anything that had wheels. He also enjoyed boating, off road trail riding, sport and target shooting. He was an avid collector of hot wheels and he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by: Parents, J. L. and Doris Carr. He is survived by: Wife of 31 years, Julia Carr of Newcastle, Five children, Lisa Parker and husband Christopher of Savannah, GA, Kristal Winchester and husband Fox of Newcastle, Tammy Scott and husband Kelly of Moore, Nikcora Carr and husband Tyler Clouse of Yukon; Kenneth M. J. Carr and wife Paula Hernandez of OKC, One brother, James B. Carr of Moore; One sister, Melinda Keith and husband Billy of Newcastle; Nine grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Newcastle First Baptist Church. 0Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle. A visitation with family and friends will be 6-8 pm Monday evening. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle. |
