© The Tuttle Times Tuttle, Oklahoma October 10, 1968 April 19, 1913 ~ October 8, 1968 Clifford F. Brownen, 55, Amber, died Tuesday, October 8, following a heart attack. He was born April 19, 1913 at Stonewall. Mr Brownen came to the Amber area in 1930 from Gracemont. He had been employed at the Moore-Stauffer Elevator, Minco, since 1952. He married the former Miss Thelma Wampler on December 21, 1954. He is survived by his wife, Thelma, of the home, a son, Bob Brownen of Amber, his mother, Mrs Glover of Stonewall, a sister, Mrs Arch Birch of Gracemont, 3 brothers, Willard, Leon, & Eugene, all of California, and a half-brother, Sam Brownen of Anadarko. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Friday, with Rev John Morris officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview cemetery. |

Brownen Hooker, 88, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 30, 2006 in the Sowers Memorial Chapel, Tuttle. Thelma M. Brownen Hooker was born January 2, 1918 in Tuttle, Oklahoma the daughter of George and Maggie [Conley] Wampler and died September 27, 2006 in Chickasha. Mrs. Hooker lived in Grady County all of her life. She was a hairstylist and beautician. Mrs. Hooker owned and operated Thelma's Beauty Shop in Chickasha from 1947 - 2004. She was a member of the Alex United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by: first husband: Clifford Brownen in 1967; second husband: Gus Hooker; two brothers: George Wampler and Hart Wampler. Survivors include: one son: Bob Brownen of Chickasha; four grandchildren: Marty Brownen, Sheryll Rodgers Brownen, Chuck Brownen and Shelly Knox; five great grandchildren: Chad Brownen, Kyle Brownen, Krayton Rodgers, Katie Knox and Alex Knox; one great great grandchild: Braeli Brownen; four sisters: Helen Joslin, Martin and Margueritte Novotny; one brother: Lon Wampler. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
