© The Tuttle Times Tuttle, Oklahoma August 14, 1980 July 1, 1898 ~ August 7. 1980 Funeral service for Slygh Bennett, 82, Tuttle, was held Sunday in the Sowers Memorial chapel of Sevier's Tuttle funeral home with Rev Glenn Rooker officiating. Mr Bennett was born 7/1//1898 in Little Ax, OK, I.T. and passed away early Thursday afternoon in Grady Memorial hospital, Chickasha. He and Wilma Brown were married in Aug 1921 at Lucille, OK, and she preceded him in death 12/30/1976. He was also preceded in death by 1 daughter, Bonnie Bennett, in 1930 and 1 son, Albert Franklin Bennett, 3/9/1975. Mr Bennett was a farmer in the Tuttle area most of his life, retiring about 2 years ago. He was a school board member at Beaver Creek, OK, serving some 25 years. He was a member of the First Baptist church of Tuttle. He is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs T.J. Lair & Mrs Harry J. Streber of Tuttle, and Mrs Ann Owens of Oklahoma City, 1 son, J.C. Bennett of Tuttle, 25 grandchildren, & 26 great grandchildren. Interment was in Fairview cemetery, Tuttle, under direction of Sevier's Tuttle funeral home. |
