He is survived by his wife, Blanche "Peggy" Ballard, 1 son, Johnny Carl Ballard of Oklahoma City, 2 brothers, Jim Ballard of Shawnee & Roy Ballard of El Sobrante, Calif, 1 sister, Beatrice Mattingly of Valiejo, Calif. Services will be at 2pm Friday at Colonial chapel of Vondel L. Smith & Sons Mortuary. |
© The Tuttle Times Tuttle, Oklahoma Thursday, February 15, 2007 March 25, 1921 ~ February 7, 2007 Funeral services for Blanche "Peggy" Bernice Ballard, 85, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma were held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Sowers Memorial Chapel, Tuttle. Blanche "Peggy" Bernice Ballard was born March 25, 1921 in Loveland, Colorado the daughter of Charlie and Myrtle [Lester] Kettler and died February 7, 2007 in Tuttle. Blanche graduated from Tuttle High School and attended Beauty School in Shawnee, Oklahoma where she met and married her husband, John Owen Ballard in December of 1944. They lived and worked in Oklahoma City. She started working at Douglas Aircraft, to aid in the war effort, which later became Tinker Air Force Base, where she retired. She also was a beautician and kept her license current until 2006. Blanche was preceded in death by: Husband: John Owen Ballard; Parents: Charlie and Myrtle Kettler; One son: Johnny Carl Ballard; One sister: Maudie McConnell; One brother: Clinton Carl Kettler. Survivors include: Two brothers and their wives: Vernon and Joy Kettler of Tuttle, Oklahoma; Charles and Mary Emma Kettler of Tuttle, Oklahoma; Brother-In-Law: Roy Ballard of California; several cousins, nieces and nephews; Special friends: Sue and David Collins of Oklahoma City. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle. |
