Oklahoma City, Oklahoma October 2016 October 13, 1931 ~ October 21, 2016 George Bailey Wyant was born October 13, 1931 in Tyler, Texas to Claude and Minnie [Wood] Wyant. He passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 84. He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Minni Wyant; his wife, Ila Mae; a sister, Armenta Wight; and a brother, Jerry Wyant. Mr. Wyant is survived by: His daughter, Dr. Kathy Wyant and her husband, Dr. Bruce O'Brien of Whangarei, New Zealand; 4 grandchildren: Colin O'Brien and his wife, Jennifer, of Edmond, OK; Colleen O'Brien of Whangarei, New Zealand; Ava O'Brien of Wellington, New Zealand; Ted O'Brien of Austin, TX Great grandson, Mason O'Brien of Oklahoma City, OK; Sister, Lois Riggan of Piedmont, OK; Brother, Billy Ray Wyant and his wife, Shirley, of Chickasha, OK; And a special friend, Mae McClure of Tulsa, OK. |
© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Friday, June 8, 2007 Funeral service for Ila Mae Wyant, 74, of McAlester, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 11, 2007 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Ila Mae Wyant was born December 8, 1932 in Waynoka, Oklahoma the daughter of William H. and Clara [Landreth] Eggleston and died Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at her home in McAlester. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1950 and married George Bailey Wyant of Middleberg on March 29, 1952. They lived and worked in the Oklahoma City area including Newcastle and Edmond before retiring to Alex in 1980 and then in Maud in 1982 where they raised cattle. In 1997, they moved to McAlester to join their daughter Kathy and son-in-law Bruce. Their days were busy chasing their grandchildren Colin and Colleen. Survivors include: her husband: George Bailey Wyant of the home; one daughter: Dr. Kathy Wyant and husband Dr. Bruce O'Brien of McAlester; grandson: Colin O'Brien of McAlester; granddaughter: Colleen O'Brien of McAlester; two brothers: Ray Eugene Eggleston of Enid; and Hurshell Eggleston of Holdenville. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
