James Sherman Woods was born April 26, 1943, and died on Sunday, March 30, 2003. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. © The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma April 2, 2003 April 26, 1943 ~ March 30, 2003 Funeral service for James Sherman Woods, 59, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2003, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. James Sherman Woods was born April 26, 1943, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Lee Jackson and Bessie [Carter] Woods, and died March 30, 2003, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He and Charlene Danforth were married February 26, 1965, in Lindsay, California. Mr. Woods worked as a tire repairman. He loved sports, camping and fishing. He was a very devoted father, husband and grandfather. His grandchildren were very special to him. He attended the Church of God in Chickasha. Mr. Woods served in the USMCR. He was preceded in death by parents: Bessie and Lee Woods; 2 brothers: Wallace "Buddy" Woods, Jerry Woods. Survivors include: wife: Charlene Woods of the home; 1 daughter: Yolanda Bunch of Chickasha; 2 sons: Louis Woods of Chickasha, Tim Woods of California; 3 granddaughters: Courtney Woods of Manteca, California, Ethel Woods of Chickasha, Charlene Bunch of Chickasha; 3 grandsons: Jason Woods of Chickasha, Nick Brown Woods of California, Greg Phillips of Chickasha; great grandson: Braden James Dean Woods-Phillips of Chickasha; 2 brothers: Jackie Woods and Dennis Woods of California; 2 sisters: Kay Mills and Jean Jenkins of California. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
