July 2, 2008 Buddy Dean Winn September 9, 1938 ~ July 2, 2008 Funeral service for Buddy Dean Winn, age 69, of Verden, Oklahoma, will be held at 10 am on Saturday, July 5, 2008, in the Tuttle Church of Christ. David Winn will officiate and Garrell Kidd will assist. Buddy was born the son of George Ray Winn and Sybil Cox Winn on September 9, 1938, in Caddo County, Oklahoma. He died on July 2, 2008, at his home north of Dutton. On July 16, 1965, he married Dorothy Ozella Jones. Buddy lived in the Verden area all of his life. He lived southwest of Verden as a young boy where he attended Roach School. At the age of ten, he moved to the Dutton community north of Verden and attended Verden School. He lived in the Dutton area for the remainder of his life. Buddy served in the National Guard from 1962-1963. He worked for 23 years as a self employed bulldozer operator "pushing dirt". Buddy worked for the Verden Schools as a bus mechanic retiring with 25 years of service. His hobbies were tinkering with pick-ups and peddling "quality used parts". Buddy was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law: Kimberly and Keith Anderson of Verden; grandson: Kody Anderson of Verden; granddaughter: Kaci Anderson of Verden; brother and wife: Dennis and Kinuko Winn of San Diego, California; brother and wife: Don and Verda Winn of Pocasset; brother and wife: Steven and Kay Winn of Verden; brother and wife: Mike and Carla Winn of Anadarko; brother and wife: Patrick and Debbie Winn of Verden. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. |
June 9, 2006 Dorothy Ozella [Jones] Winn October 13, 1948 ~ June 9, 2006 Funeral service for Dorothy Ozella Winn, age 57 of Pocasset, Oklahoma, will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2006, in the Tuttle Church of Christ. Garrell Kidd will officiate and John Allen will assist. Dorothy Ozella Winn was born the daughter of Monroe Jones and Dorothy Hampton Jones on October 13, 1948, in Agawam, Oklahoma. She died on June 9, 2006, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dorothy grew up in the Verden area and graduated from Verden High School. She married Buddy Winn on July 16, 1965 and they established their home north of Verden. Several years later, she began working as a cashier at the Bank of Verden. Dorothy worked 30 years at the bank and loved visiting with the public. She also enjoyed community activities such as going to ballgames. Dorothy was an active member of the Church of Christ for many years. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother. Survivors include: Husband: Buddy Winn of Pocasset; Daughter & Husband: Kimberly & Keith Anderson of Verden; Grandchildren: Kody & Kaci Anderson of Verden; Mother: Dorothy Jones of Amber; Sister: Virginia Jolley of Amber; Brother: Charles Jones of Chickasha; Numerous Other Family. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha. |
